Calling All Churches: A Local School Needs You!

All Our Children is planning six regional forums in 2016 to lay the foundation for our 2017 national symposium.

“Public education is a divine right, a human right, and for the common good.” Presiding Bishop-elect, Michael Curry

AOC is excited to announce our 2016 regional forums! Each regional forum will provide action steps to support the journey of partnership. Focusing on regional issues, resources, and opportunities, the forums will help participants learn more about school inequities and systemic policy issues. These day-long events will also guide congregations on how to take concrete action toward educational justice. The first forum, co-sponsored by Province One (New England), will be at the Barbara C. Harris Camp and Conference Center in Greenfield, New Hampshire, February 19 and 20, 2016.

All Our Children was delighted to hear Presiding Bishop-elect, Michael Curry say “Jesus said, ‘Follow me,’ so we are going to try to do that in ways that are meaningful for this time.” Church-school partnerships present a perfect opportunity for congregations to do just that. By collectively committing to supporting schools and advocating for high-quality education for every child — regardless of race, creed, income, or zip code — we tie our church’s mission to a very real, very current need, and we invite anyone and everyone to join us at one of our forums in 2016.
